| | Born in Copenhagen Denmark, Connie moved to Canada's East Coast and slowly worked her way across Canada, to British Columbia - landing on Vancouver Island in 1981.
"Although painting since my teens, I returned to school to continue my"love of the arts,". taking - Fiber Arts, Ceramics, and Graphic Art Programs.
I started my career in Oils and Acrylics, but fell in love with Watercolors, after studying with numerous well-known Waterclolr Artists from Canada and the USA - and as a result have now chosen - "Transparent Watercolor" as my primary medium."
Since 1994, Connie has pursed her vaious art forms full-time, and was invited to join the Federation of Canadian Artists in 2001. She is an active member of several other art organizations with Private and Corporate Collectors in - Canada, USA, Europe, Austraila, Japan, and the Middle East
NEWS - Connie is proud to have recently been asked to join the "International Underwater Artist's Society", with such renowned artists as - Wyland, George Sumner, Simon Morris, among others, and joins them in doing her part in preserving "endangered species of marine animals".
- Connie joined a Whale Research Vessel recently, traveling to the Robson Bite area, with the famous "Rubbing Beaches" for Orca Killer Whales near Telegraph Cove on the Vancouver Island Coast to see first hand this pristine protected habitat, of the West Coast Killer Whales, that she is so passionate about. - While there she gathered future referrence material, and made arrangements to work with the "Strait Watch Program" (a whale research, education and whale watcher - monitoring group in the Telegraph Cove area of Vancouver Island - headquarterd in Alert Bay) as well as "The Whale Museum" at Telegraph Cove, by supplying prints and cards for fundraising....so that the world will get to know these wonderful animals and work to protect their environment before it is too late.
- In 2003 - Connie's art traveled to Europe - to Berlin Germany and Paris - France, with the works of Renowned West Coast Wildlife and Landscape Artists, to bring our Unique West Coast Culture, and Lifestyle to the European people.
- This past few years Connie has taken her studio outdoors to the "Bastion Square Festival of the Arts" and the "Inner Harbour Causeway" in Beautiful downtown Victoria, B.C. Canada. There she painted full-time while visiting with the many Tourists that make these 'Markets" some of their preferred stops while in Victoria. All of her work was displayed on location.
Today Connie prefers to work from her home studio and resides in Victoria BC Canada, with her husband, who is pursing his own art career, in producing "Life's Memories" - Photo Montages of a person's life and loves - created in beautifully artistic formats for loved ones to treasure forever. |
